From the description:
Intersex activists around the world are campaigning for the rights, visibility and self-determination of intersex people. The anthology „Inter*Pride“ provides insights into this young international human rights movement, which has been forming since the 1990s, its activism and its approaches.
How does intersex activism take shape in different regions of the world? And what does „Pride“ mean for intersex people, whose experiences are often marked by shaming, violence, and norming? This book attempts to find diverse and sometimes creative answers to these questions, combining expert and activist texts, interviews, and biographical and artistic contributions from authors and interviewees from Argentina, Australia, Germany, Great Britain, Croatia, Mexico, the Netherlands, Nigeria, Austria, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, and the USA, among others.
Inter*Pride is the editoring collective’s response to the shaming, norming, and violence that intersex people experience every day around the world.
